Psalms 6

For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments, set to the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. O Yehovah, do not rebuke me in your anger, Nor chasten me in your hot displeasure.

Have mercy upon me, O Yehovah; for I am withered away: O Yehovah, heal me; for my bones are troubled.

My soul also is greatly troubled: And you, O Yehovah, how long?

Return, O Yehovah, deliver my soul: Save me for your lovingkindness’ sake.

For in death there is no remembrance of you: In Sheol who shall give you thanks?

I am weary with my groaning; Every night I make my bed swim; I water my couch with my tears.

My eye wastes away because of grief; It grows old because of all my adversaries.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; For Yehovah has heard the voice of my weeping.

Yehovah has heard my supplication; Yehovah will receive my prayer.

All my enemies shall be put to shame and greatly troubled: They shall turn back, they shall be put to shame suddenly.
