John 7

1And after these things Yeshua walked in Galilee: for he did not want to walk in Judæa, because the Jews sought to kill him. 2Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand. 3His brothers therefore said to him, Depart from here, and go into Judæa, that your disciples also may behold your works which you do. 4For no man does anything in secret, and he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, manifest yourself to the world. 5For not even his brothers believed in him. 6Yeshua therefore says to them, My time has not yet come; but your time is always ready. 7The world cannot hate you; but me it hates, because I testify of it, that its works are evil. 8Go up to the feast: I am not going up to this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled. 9And having said these things to them, he remained in Galilee. 10But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but as it were in secret. 11The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? 12And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he leads the multitude astray. 13Yet no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews. 14But when it was now the midst of the feast Yeshua went up into the temple, and taught. 15The Jews therefore marveled, saying, How does this man know letters, having never learned? 16Yeshua therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. 17If any man wills to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself. 18He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory: but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him, he is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. 19Did not Moses give you the Torah, and yet none of you does the Torah? Why do you seek to kill me? 20The multitude answered, You have a demon: who seeks to kill you? 21Yeshua answered and said to them, I did one work, and you all marvel because of it. 22Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath you circumcise a man. 23If a man receives circumcision on the sabbath, that the Torah of Moses may not be broken; are you angry with me, because I made a man entirely whole on the sabbath? 24Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. 25Some therefore of those of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? 26And look, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Messiah? 27However, we know this man, where he is from: but when the Messiah comes, no one knows where he is from. 28Yeshua therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, You both know me, and know where I am from; and I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know. 29I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me. 30They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. 31But of the multitude many believed in him; and they said, When the Messiah comes, will he do more signs than those which this man has done? 32The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him. 33Yeshua therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and I go to him who sent me. 34You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, you cannot come. 35The Jews therefore said among themselves, Where will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36What is this word that he said, You shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, you cannot come? 37Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried out, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38The one believing in me, as the scripture has said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. 39But this he spoke of the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Yeshua was not yet glorified. 40Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is truly the prophet. 41Others said, This is the Messiah. But some said, What, does the Messiah come out of Galilee? 42Has not the scripture said that the Messiah comes of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? 43So there arose a division in the multitude because of him. 44And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. 45The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why did you not bring him? 46The officers answered, Never did a man speak like this. 47The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are you also led astray? 48Has any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees? 49But this multitude that does not know the Torah is accursed. 50Nicodemus says to them (he who came to him before, being one of them), 51Does our Torah judge a man, unless it first hears from him and knows what he does? 52They answered and said to him, Are you also of Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee. 53[And they went every man to his own house:
