John 13

1Now before the feast of the passover, Yeshua knowing that his hour had come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. 2And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him, 3Yeshua, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goes to God, 4rises from supper, and lays aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself. 5Then he pours water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. 6So he comes to Simon Peter. He says to him, Lord, do you wash my feet? 7Yeshua answered and said to him, What I do you do not know now; but you shall understand afterward. 8Peter says to him, You shall never wash my feet. Yeshua answered him, If I do not wash you, you have no part with me. 9Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10Yeshua says to him, He who is bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is entirely clean: and you are clean, but not all. 11For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, You are not all clean. 12So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and sat down again, he said to them, Do you know what I have done to you? 13You call me, Teacher, and, Lord: and you say well; for so I am. 14If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. 16Truly, truly, I say to you, A servant is not greater than his lord; neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. 18I do not speak of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats my bread lifted up his heel against me. 19From now on I tell you before it comes to pass, that, when it has come to pass, you may believe that I am he. 20Truly, truly, I say to you, He who receives whomever I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me. 21When Yeshua had thus said, he was troubled in the spirit, and testified, and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you shall betray me. 22The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. 23There was at the table reclining in Yeshua’s bosom one of his disciples, whom Yeshua loved. 24Simon Peter therefore beckons to him, and says to him, Tell us who it is of whom he speaks. 25He leaning back, as he was, on Yeshua’s breast says to him, Lord, who is it? 26Yeshua therefore answers, It is he for whom I shall dip the morsel, and give it to him. So when he had dipped the morsel, he takes it and gives it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27And after the morsel, then Satan entered into him. Yeshua therefore says to him, What you do, do quickly. 28Now no man at the table knew for what purpose he spoke this to him. 29For some thought, because Judas had the bag, that Yeshua said to him, Buy what things we need for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30He then having received the morsel went out immediately: and it was night. 31When therefore he had gone out, Yeshua says, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him; 32and God shall glorify him in himself, and immediately he shall glorify him. 33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me: and as I said to the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you. 34A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35By this all men shall know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. 36Simon Peter says to him, Lord, where are you going? Yeshua answered, Where I am going, you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward. 37Peter says to him, Lord, why can I not follow you even now? I will lay down my life for you. 38Yeshua answers, Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, The cock shall not crow, till you have denied me three times.
