ἀνομία
Lawlessness
iniquity → lawlessness
Why this word
a-nomos: without/against Torah. ASV "iniquity" hides the Torah reference in Matt 7:23, 13:41, 23:28, 24:12; 1 John 3:4 defines sin as anomia. Render the root visibly.

Why

law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Messiah, that I might gain them that are without lawthe Torah, as without the Torah, not being without the Torah of God, but within the Torah of Messiah, that I might gain them that are without the Torahto those who are without the Torah, as without the Torah, not being without the Torah of God, but within the Torah of Messiah, that I might gain those who are without the Torah.
Why
Greek ἄνομος θεοῦ, 'without God's Torah', and ἔννομος Χριστοῦ, 'within the Torah of Messiah'. Rendered 'within' because ἔννομος differs from ὑπὸ νόμον ('under Torah') in 9:20; ASV rendered both 'under law'.
